Our mission Home Away From Home works to provide families in crisis situation in DeKalb and Metro Atlanta with resources to better their lives by assisting with the acquisition of employment, housing, health benefits, financial assistance, and continuing education and provide advocacy in Social Security, Child Support and Juvenile/Magistrate cases.
The organization was founded January 2, 2006 when I had the experience to help Hurricane Katrina victims with resources in Dekalb and Atlanta to better their situation because most of them had no idea where to go for help. Once the crisis had subsided God showed me that there are constituents here that need resources and HAFH continued to provide the services for Dekalb and Metro Atlanta. This was an easy task for me considering that I had encountered some of the same experiences with my health, jobs, shelter, and financial situation. I found that God allow you to go through a process so your testimony can help others.
